Actually, I am after Unity Pro software from another provider and not the one you mentioned. I just wanted to understand what's causing the crash, which I hoped the log file should be able to point it out but it's too much in there for my little brain to understand. Prism 7.0.0.396; When creating WPF applications Prism is a great way to build loosely coupled, maintainable and testable applications. However, the documentation is focused on version 6.3. If you are curious of how to use the latest version (7.0.0.396 as of this writing) you have to figure out how to initialize your application.

For some reason last night, I got a bug up my ass and decided to wipe my machine and replace Windows 7 64-bit with Windows 8 64-bit (okay, the reason was an unrecoverable issue regarding MSSQL on the box.meh). I've been running Win8 in a VBVM, but I figured I would see how everything played out with all my software installed rather than just a subset of it.Which brings me to a question regarding Unity and Windows 8, and I was wondering if anybody else had experienced the following:'Your 64 bit Windows installation is missing an important service pack patch. Please apply to ensure stability.' Exceptions that are thrown from an application that runs in a 64-bit version of Windows are ignoredThe hotfix does not apply to Win8. Has anybody attempted to apply the hotfix, just ignored the error, experienced issues, etc, etc, etc.?To an extent, I have to wonder if Unity 3.5.4 is looking for something there - not seeing it - thus throwing the flag; but I'm wondering if it's even something that Unity should be looking for in regard to Windows 8.This is basically why I've posted it here in Blah-Blah rather than over in tech - Windows 8 is RC, not technically a supported install. We're producing this warning based on whether the workaround suggested in the MS support article is available on the running system. The workaround is for an intentional change in native exception handling on 64bit Windows - we're checking whether MS has changed this behavior again for Windows 8, or if there is now a different workaround.Edit: This workaround/hotfix actually is important for Unity users - without it, null reference exceptions in script code may crash Unity, and the script debugger will certainly do so.
